How I came to be in the care of my owner
Mom kept obsessively checking "Cuddly Canines" rescue. She saw me... didn't think anything of me though! :*( However, she read about an adoption drive they were doing in front of the PetSmart and decided to bring the husband because they were going to go to the big adoption drive next week and wanted to get a feel for what kind of dogs there were.
Then she saw me, cooed, and said I was too big for the apartment because I looked like a Labrador. Dad was upset about that too because the apartment has a 35lb limit on dogs. Then I stood up. They saw my midget legs. There was much cheering. They petted me, played with me and left.
They walked away to talk, when they came back, I stood up for them again. Some scrawny nightmarish kid nearby was playing with me, tugging hard on my ears and my tail, but I didn't glare or bite the kid at all... I ignored him. And that pretty much sealed the deal. Mom and Dad wanted a really laid back and mellow dog; I proved I was exactly that by not eating that bratty kid's face.
