What I Like to Eat
Dog foods mostly, garbage (plastics, please), and celery.
What I like to do
Chew up things, get into people's way so they will love on me, bark loudly at people I don't know, snuggle, sleep on pillows (I especially like to steal your pillows when you are sleeping!), run really fast and forget to stop, nudge.
Where we'd go if I got to choose the destination of our next vacation
I don't really remember vacations... or three seconds ago. It would probably be a waste of time. And money.
How I came to be in the care of my owner
Moon Unit was brought into existance from a poor white trash family who wanted to breed their weimaraners for money. They loved their dogs and wanted other people to love weimaraners too-- they just wanted people to buy love. They sold one of the puppies to the wrong family. Moon Unit (who went by a different name then) was a sweet puppy, but then she grew up and turned into a doggy. The family who bought Moony left her outside in an unshaded, fenced in dirty area of their yard out in the country. Moony got loose one morning and the mother of the family ran over her, breaking her back two kneecaps and causing internal bleeding. The mother claimed she didn't have time to take the dog to the vet and told her kids to call a cab if they wanted to save their puppy. The kids didn't care and went inside to play video games. Their neighbors called the police, who didn't do anything. The family forgot about Moony in the garage and she ended up in there for a week with nothing. She ate an entire bag of potting soil (Miracle Grow) which caused possible brain damage. One of the other families who bought a weimaraner heard about this dog and broke into the family's garage and took Moony to the emergency vet. The breeding family took over bills and taking care of Moony until she was able to leave the vet. They called us, knowing we had rescued two Dobermans and were most likely willing to adopt another large dog. Of course, the moment we saw our new baby Moon Unit, we all fell in love. She barked and barked and barked at us and then after about thirty minutes she just curled up in my lap and fell asleep, exhausted. Because of a possible stroke, she has a nervous twitch which is her barking, she was cross-eyedand she tilts her head to the side whenever she gets excited. Her tilted head gets better every day, and so does her balance and her eyes. We love her very much and are so glad she found a permanent home with us!
