What I Like to Eat

Whatever you give me? I like beef, and chicken, and pork...I like rice, and noodles, and the occasional veggie (like broccoli and rutabega). I like bacon and cheese and eggs. I like peanut butter flavored Itsaboo treats (much to Mum's chagrin...she hates Rachel Ray). I also enjoy left over bones from steaks and porkchops. Pretty much, anything crunchy.

What I like to do

When I was young, I liked to go out with Button (R.I.P. lil Sis) in the pen and run around...I was never really good at catching frisbee. I'd run to bring it back and it'd flip up in my face and I couldn't see and I'd trip over my feet and Mum would just laugh. Nowadays...I like a good rub down and nap. I'm 15. I'm old. I do still like to wander around outside, "sniffing the sniffies" as Mum says.

Where we'd go if I got to choose the destination of our next vacation

Savannah Georgia. Or maybe New York...I'd love to visit Central Park. So many smells to smell...Mmm...

How I came to be in the care of my owner

Well, I had been given to this vet tech by my Momma's owners after I was born. The vet tech couldn't keep me, her building didn't allow dogs, so she took me to work with her to find me a home. It was July 17th (oddly enough, Mum's B-day) and Mum was there with HER Momma to pick up their cat, Pete. They had just come back from a vacation at the beach (this I learned later, Mum was really chatty when she was young) and they managed to come home right on Mum's birthday. Mum's Momma was talking to the vet tech about how she had been wanting a dog, preferably a lab, for her birthday...well, fate just so happened that I was half Lab, and I needed a home! The vet tech told her so, and they let me out to meet Mum. It was a match made in...well...a vets office. Mum loved me instantly, and they took me home for a trial period. Once home, Mum made puppy faces at her Dad and they decided to keep me. Mum was so happy, I was getting hugs and she wouldn't leave my side for the rest of the day. That night, Mum snuck out to the kitchen (where they decided to keep me until I learned that outside was the toilet), and slept next to me under the table. She even shared her blankie and pillow with me. She was more a littermate back then, but now she acts like my Mum. I got a lucky start in life, and fate smiled on me that day, so many years ago. I have to say, there is no cooler badge to wear, than that of "Best Birthday Present EVER".

Sad news about Lady. 11/28/2009, we had to put her down. She had just gotten too weak and had given up. I don't think I'll ever stop missing her. She was a great dog, by bestest bud, and the sister I never had. RIP, Lady.
