What I Like to Eat

Other than the mice, voles, and moles I catch in the back yard? I kid, I kid. I don't even eat those, I just present them to Mum. No, I like the grilled Fancy Feast brand in gravy...I also enjoy biscuits, cheese, beef, chicken, bacon, eggs, popcorn, rice, and noodles (even better with cheese or sauce!). I have a secret love of butter, but I can't have much of it because it goes straight to my bum.

What I like to do

Well, I like to hunt. Mum says I'm really good at it. I caught a hummingbird, once! But Mum made me spit it out before I could really hurt it...eh, it was all feathers anyway. I like to sunbathe in the treehouse outside. I accidentally dislocated my tail coming down from that (Mum says cats shouldn't back down trees...what does she know?), but it healed and I'm okay now. I like to nap, and groom myself. I also like to hide under the table and attack Mum's legs when she passes by. She squeeks like a mouse when I do that. It's really funny. I love chasing the laser light, or the fuzzy thing at the end of the fishing line Mum tosses out for me sometimes. I like getting pets, and being "insufferably cute" as Mum puts it. I also like it when I get to go out and play with Lady (the dog). She's old and can't see too well, so I lead her around by bumping under her chin with my tail.

Where we'd go if I got to choose the destination of our next vacation

Hmm...well, I don't particularly like humidity, so nothing more South than where we are now...then again, I'm not very fond of snow, either, so nothing more North, either....hmm....maybe someplace with lots of grain fields, so I can chase mice.

How I came to be in the care of my owner

Well, Mum found me when I was about 4-5 weeks old outside her school back when she was a senior in highschool. There were these girls who had seen me and my brother go into this low lying cedar bush while my Momma was away, and they kept trying to catch us. They weren't very good. Well, I was hiding with my bro, which wasn't very smart seeing as he was a bright orange, when Mum came along and asked the girls what they were doing. She said something about being used to catching feral kittens (I soon learned that she lived in the boonies, so feral cats were a norm) and stepped into the bush. I think she was tracking my brother, and her hand shot out to grab him, but she grabbed me instead. She was all surprised...it was funny when I think back on it, but I was not happy at the time. Hissing and yowling, until she held me to her chest and purred at me. I don't know why, but it reminded me of Momma, so I calmed down enough for her to snatch my brother while holding me. He didn't really seem to care much about being caught...the big dummy. Well, she took me home and one of the girls took my brother home and that, as they say, was that. Honestly, it was a good thing it happened, too...Mum told me that these people called Animal Control came and caught my Momma and my other siblings and she doubted they found homes...I didn't like her tone when she said that. I lucked out, though...my home is perfect. I can be outside whenever I want (except at night, Mum's rather strict about that, and Halloween...she thinks someone will catch me and hurt me for some kind of sick prank)...I have woods and a field to run around in, a huge territory if I do say so myself. I have all the food and water and cat treats I could ever ask for. I have a Mum who understands me, even if she is a human. I have a dog for a big sister (I had another one and mum used to keep rats for pets...which was weird...and she had birds...which were noisy...and a fishtank, which was kinda like watching TV, only it made me hungry)...I have a warm home to come into when it's cold, and all the fleece blankets I could ask for. All and all, I am one lucky cat. But don't tell Mum I appreciate it. It would ruin my illusion of superiority.
