How I came to be in the care of my owner
I was rescued from a house with dozens of dogs and even more cats. I was a scared, scrawny little kitten who had been abused so badly I can't purr (the part of my throat that makes the noise was injured). Then no one wanted to adopt me. But one day my mom saw me in the Cat Rescue van. I meowed at her as pathetically as I could and even reached out through the bars of my cage to get her attention. She fell in love with me, took me home, fed me, and gave me plenty of love and affection. Now I'm the happiest little attention whore in the world, and I even have a brother to cuddle and play with

The thing was that I was trying to find a true kitten (still real little and tiny). But it wasn't kitten season.
Henry had been overlooked by so many people because even though he was still little, he wasn't quite a "kitten" anymore.
When I first got him, all my friends were like, "Dude, that cat's going to die within a week." That's how skinny, sickly, and downtrodden he was, and he had been so badly abused that he was literally terrified of everyone and everything. If you got up from the sofa, he'd run and hide under the bed.
He was sick constantly the first few months I had him.
All that makes me love him so much more now, because he's so healthy and happy, and I know that I really did save him from euthanasia (he was a week away from that when I rescued him). So even when he's super annoying, I appreciate his loving nature

Such a cuties and what a sad story! I can't understand how people abuse animals. My stepmother's cat has a stumpy tail supposedly because some mean man where the kitty was born cut off her tail with hedge clippers. I think it almost sounds too horrific to be true.
He's a sweety! Bless your heart for rescuing him.
I'm embarrassed to admit it, but we just added two more to our brood. My son & his friend saw this man dump these kittens by the side of the road. He just opened his car door & dropped them out. There were four - we have two and two of their other friends took the other two. They are so sweet.

Yeah, they love each other. They like to sleep together and groom each other, and if one of them has to go to the vet or something, the one that's left home is always upset until his brother comes back

What a cute kitty
None of my cats have ever been lap cats or super snuggly and I would give anything for a super snuggler :rtofl: Giverny will cuddle with me if she's in the mood and Monet likes to be held but only for a little while. But, they're both sweethearts. Your Henry is so lucky to have you for his Mama, so I'm sure he just has to smother you in lots of hugs and kisses all the time, to say thanks!

Henry is verrry affectionate. He hates it when I leave the room--he'll follow me around the apartment like a little dog--and he sits by the tub and meows constantly when I'm taking a bath
