What I Like to Eat
I have a very delicate tummy and some health issues so I mostly eat special food for my sensitive stomach. But I'm getting better so sometimes Mama and Daddy give me treats.
They don't really let me drink beer.
What I like to do
Snuggle, steal Mama's shoes and socks, take up the entire sofa, get attention, get my belly scratched, chew my chewy bones, go to the dog park, make poopies, give kisses, sniff other dogs' butts, play with my toys (especially my piggy and my giant tennis ball).

How I came to be in the care of my owner
Mama and Daddy found me through Petfinder. I was staying at the Eleventh Hour Rescue which specializes in rescuing pregnant mommy dogs and finding homes for the mommies and babies.

When I was eight weeks old, Mama and Daddy came to get me. My mom and most of my brothers and sisters were already adopted. Mama and Daddy had two beagle babies to choose from (me and my brother) and they chose me because I was a little bit more calm.
Little did they know that the reason I was so calm was because I was very, very sick. I had a liver shunt, which meant that my liver wasn't filtering my blood properly, and every time I ate, the proteins and amino acids from the food were poisoning my brain. I was very sad and sickly.
The people at the rescue helped raise money for me, and I had liver surgery when I was just 11 weeks old. Now I have a big scar on my belly, but I'm doing great. I'm happy, healthy, and very energetic!
Although I'm doing very well, I never grew to the full size a beagle should be. I'm a year and a half old but I'm still very small and I still look like a little puppy. I like it, because everyone stops on the street to pay attention to puppies!

Awww! Guffy was abandoned and I found her in a parking lot. She was reallllly malnourished and I had to buy her super duper 'spensive food for a couple of months. She never grew big either- people always think she is a puppy too...

Beagles are so sweet. He's adorable. That's great that you guys got the surgery done for him, most people wouldn't put forth the effort. And now he's happy, so sweet!

Basil is so cute! He has a touching story also.
Basil rips out the throat of his toys too? I thought only my Zena did that! She rips out toys' hiney's too. Most dogs I've met attack the toy's stomach, not throat!
